Recently, the Fall River Area Chamber of Commerce honored Richard L. Lafrance with its 2007 Roger Valcourt Memorial Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award.
Mr. Lafrance has ties to the Bishop Connolly community in special ways. A former board member at Bishop Connolly, Mr. Lafrance was awarded the Pius X Award in 2003 for his many contributions to the growth and future of the school. In addition to being a Connolly parent, Mr. Lafrance sponsors an annual scholarship, the Aime R. and Rita Lafrance Scholarship. He is also a member of the school’s Founders Club which initiated the Connolly football program. The Lafrance name figures prominently in Bishop Connolly history as the school’s gymnasium is names for Richard’s father, R. Aime Lafrance. Bishop Connolly High School congratulates Richard on his latest tribute.
