Bishop Connolly High School ~ Calendar of Events

Monday, January 28 – All-school Assembly.-Liturgy Celebration. The Bishop Connolly community will mark the beginning of Catholic Schools Week with a liturgy celebration beginning at 8:15 am in Msgr. Prevost Auditorium. The weeklong celebration begins with opening remarks by President Robert P. Morissette followed by a special recognition ceremony for students who have garnered community-based awards in the past year in demonstration of the Catholic Schools Week theme of the “Catholic Schools Light the Way.” In addition, faculty service awards will be given.

The awards assembly begins at 9:00 am in Msgr. Prevost Auditorium.

Tuesday, January 29 – Distinguished Speaker Program: Noted author Peter Johnson. Award winning poet, professor and author of the critically acclaimed Young Adult Novel What Happened will be on campus discussing his novel and the writer’s process. Visit our website for more details.

BCHS Welcomes Middle School Visitors. A special all-day program for 7th graders from all eight of Fall River’s parochial schools begins today. Beginning with get-to-know-you sessions in the cafeteria and ending with fun in the gym, this Catholic Schools Week event seeks to acquaint young students with how Bishop Connolly assists in helping “light the way.”

Wednesday, January 30 –National Appreciation Day for Catholic Schools. Catholic schools in the United States currently serve 2.5 million students and are now in their third century of dedication to America’s youth. Bishop Connolly students will share in the anniversary festivities and be feted on this occasion with a special lunch menu and anniversary cake.

Thursday, January 31 – BCHS Welcomes Middle School Visitors. The second all-day program for 7th graders from the remainder of Fall River’s parochial schools takes place today. Winter Open House for Prospective Families 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Responding to continued interest in Bishop Connolly, we are hosting this evening event for parents and students who are just now contemplating high school options. We encourage you to invite families you know to attend to hear the message of the value of a Bishop Connolly education. Admissions test date is Saturday, February 2, 2008.

Friday, February 1 – Appreciation Day for Bishop Connolly Teachers. Essential to the mission of Catholic education are the 160,153 teachers and countless staff members who comprise our nation’s “living endowment.” Today we recognize our own “laborers in the fields” with a special luncheon program. Retired Bishop Connolly faculty members will also be in attendance.
