BCHS COMMUNITY MARKS 9-11 ANNIVERSARY

In a world marked by violence and hatred and what Pope Benedict XVI calls “the useless slaughter of war,” the St. Pius X Chapel became a place for calm and peace as the Bishop Connolly community commemorated the sixth anniversary of the 9-11 terrorist attacks on our nation on Tuesday, September 11.

A Communion Service, under the direction of Rev. Mr. Anthony Cipriano, BCHS Campus Minister, focused on man’s instinctive need for peace and freedom. “Our coming together today in memory of lives lost on September 11, 2001 is a simple yet profound prayer to note that we must always spread the Lord’s message of peace to one and all,” Deacon Cipriano stated.

“If we want peace, security and a happy live in Christ for all, we must realize that we are all called to be stewards in guarding our way of life and that, of course, includes prayer and that is why it was so important to be here this morning” President Robert P. Morissette said following the memorial service.  “This service today, with students and faculty coming together in prayer is an important sign of our common commitment to the stewardship of peace” Morissette added.

The St. Pius X Chapel is host each school day morning to a Communion service offered by Deacon Cipriano with the celebration of Holy Mass available each Wednesday morning at 7:20 am for the Bishop Connolly family and the community at large.
