PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Fall and early winter were busy times for Bishop Connolly students: athletics, drama productions, social activities, service projects and, oh yes, classwork! As always, students seem to live life with gusto by participating fully in clubs and activities (as I write this our Debate Team is first in the league) while continuing Connolly’s fine tradition of service to school and community. Students who stay busy and active become our socially responsible and engaged young adults of tomorrow. As a school we are happy to provide such a great number of opportunities for them in which to be involved.

During our fall and winter admissions campaign scores of prospective students who have participated in the spend-a-day program have witnessed first hand the true Connolly experience of care and concern. Making these prospective students feel welcome is a direct result of our students’ and staff’s ability to create a warm and caring atmosphere. Visitors to our school often reflect on how welcoming our student body is. Creating this positive atmosphere aids in students doing their best academically, socially and spiritually throughout the school day, month and year.

As we enter the holy season of Lent, the message of being born again and following the path of Christ’s death and resurrection allows us to reflect upon our loved ones who have passed before us into eternal rest. It is fitting that we choose this time for remembrance of our deceased loved ones and the fervent expectation of our eventual reunion. During the season of Lent the Bishop Connolly family remembers in a special way at Mass deceased alumni, parents, relatives, benefactors, and friends. Mass during Lent is offered twice weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30 AM. You are welcomed to attend Mass whenever your schedule permits.

Moving rapidly toward spring, the school’s calendar of events remains as busy as ever! Be sure to check our website for what’s in store at Bishop Connolly in the coming months and come, visit often!

Warm regards,

Robert P. Morissette
President
